Brian Tibbs

Brian Tibbs is the Managing Partner of Moody Nolan, where he has practiced architecture for 28 years. As leader of the Nashville office, he has overseen some of the firm’s largest projects, including the Music City Center, the Jacob Javits Expansion, and developments at Nashville International Airport. His leadership has driven the firm’s expansion into Boston and New York, and he HAS served as Partner in Charge for offices in Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, and New York.
A Huntsville, Alabama native, Brian earned his architecture degree from NJIT in 1991. Since arriving in Nashville in 1997, he has contributed to notable historic restorations, including Cravath Hall at Fisk University. His 30-year career spans institutional, municipal, and large-scale urban revitalization projects, including the post-Katrina redevelopment of New Orleans’ B.W. Cooper neighborhood.
Tibbs serves on the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and the Tennessee Board of Architectural and Engineering Examiners. He is also a member of AIA, NOMA, and various planning and preservation organizations. A recognized advocate for diversity in architecture, he speaks nationally on the topic, inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Brian lives in Nashville with his wife, Felicia, and their son, Ian.
