Dr. Ryan Mire

SIRE ARCHON-ELECT

Ryan D. Mire is a proud native of New Orleans, LA. He attended Rhodes College in Memphis, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and was also an All-Conference collegiate athlete. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Dr. Mire completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and also served as Chief Resident for the department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Mire is board certified in Internal Medicine and has an academic appointment as Associate Clinical Professor of Clinical Medical Education for University of Tennessee College of Medicine.  He is a private practice internal medicine physician in Nashville, TN and past-president of Heritage Medical Associates. 

Dr. Mire is a life member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  He was awarded Mastership, which recognizes outstanding and extraordinary career accomplishments and notable contributions to medicine.  He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Edinburg.

Dr. Mire’s leadership extends nationally as past president of the American College of Physicians (ACP) from 2022 – 2023.  In April of 2023, ACP named its summer internship program the Ryan Mire, MD Summer Internship Program due to his passionate commitment for mentorship and advancing health equity. 

Areas of professional interest and expertise for Dr. Mire include independent practice, preventative medicine, health equity, and medical profession mentorship.

Dr. Mire has served on several boards including the Board of Regents for the American College of Physicians, Board of Directors for State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company, and Board of Trustees for Rhodes College.  He is President-elect for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Alumni Council.

Dr. Mire is married to Felicite, and has three young adult children: Shelby, Mallory, and Carson.  He enjoys collegiate sports, travel and spending time with family in his free time.
